Bug Description

some packages of the ubuntu 10.10 beta alternate AMD64 install cd are corrupt. base sysytem install fails. I have verified that the checksum for the downloaded iso is correct using the tool: winMd5Sum on win7.

While installing the base system the following errors occur:

Warning: file:///cdrom/pool/main/l/less/less_436-1_amd64.deb
warning: file:///cdrom/pool/main/l/linux-atm/libatm1_2.5.1-1.2_amd64.deb

An error was retuned while trying to install the busybox-initramfs package onto the target system

Thank you for reporting this issue. The issue reported was during installation of the development version of Maverick Meerkat. Often these issues are resolved by the developers within a day or two. Is this still an issue using the final release of Ubuntu 10.10? I can not reproduce this using the final release.

Changed in debian-installer (Ubuntu):
status: New → Incomplete

it doesn't appear with the final release. I managed to install the final
release - seems to be resolved.

Thanks,

Stefan
