Bug Description

The Atlanteans have two different graphics for corn and two different graphics for spidercloth. One version is the image that is carried by the carriers, the second version is the one in the menus. It is not easy to recognize the wares with this two images which mean the same ware.

I agree that the graphics for the corn ware are dissimilar enough to hinder identification of the ware in the game animation.

The graphics for the spidercloth ware, I feel, are similar enough shape. Their major difference (aside from size) is the absence of playercolor in the menu icon. So I think we should leave that as is.

I'll put up a branch with proposed replacements for the corn.

the problem is that when looking for cloth you search by default for a white image as the menu picture is white. I suggest either turning the menu picture to player color as well (this is not yet possible from an engine point of view) or reverting the player color cloth to white.

The quickest/easiest approach, of course, would be to back out the player color for the ware. I can do that if you believe the issue warrants the reversion.

Chuck; I personally feel that the plus on eye candy (which I liked at first sight) is not worth the confusion while playing. But I put this up to discussion as my feelings are not always those of the majority.

+1 for white cloth.

Rather than spend any more calories on this issue, I've decided to back out the player color for the spidercloth. I placed the the reversion in my branch for the new corn ware graphics ~chuckw20/widelands/corn_graphics rev 5508 which is now merged to trunk.

White cloth it is. :-)

Personally, I wouldn't mind loosing a calorie or two, but thanks anyway :).

On a sidenote: are you also as superpumped for the whack as I am?

chuck, did you remember to push back to launchpad? there is no revision 5508 in trunk.

Yes, I did push the spidercloth change. If you check the diffs for trunk
5507 you'll see that a modified conf file for the spidercloth was included.
I sort of sneaked that little change under the wire at the last minute.
