could not open the syslog, could not attach it. says its empty. that makes no sense...

Please run the installer until it crashes. Then, when you are at the live environment desktop, hit alt-F2 and type `apport-collect 629775` in the box that appears. This will attach all of the needed log files to this bug report.

I was instructed to report this bug. I already have XP and Unbuntu 9.04 installed on a laptop. I had to reinstall XP. I tried to rewrite the MBR but it did not work. I did not get a GRUB menu. rather than reinstall ubuntu, i wanted to try aurora. tried installing it as a third system. Install failed when about 95% complete. I was instructed to post this bug:

For information, I am installing using a USB drive and doing a boot up with the USB drive and then installing by hitting the icon that says install EB4 that is on the desktop after I booted from the USB drive.
