How is to use the PulseAudio's emuration module for Open Sound System?
Let you execute this.
$ padsp gtick

There is the same module in ALSA. You can use it by installing "alsa-oss" package.
Then execute this.
$ aoss gtick

Hi Takashi,
The normal user of Ubuntu, Studio etc. is not aware of Linux
internals....he/she are just interested in running applications.

Being /dev/dsp disabled read/write for all, gtick will not execute on a fresh
installation "out of the box".

I believe that a fresh installation should come with /dev/dsp enabled far all.
....not a problem of gtick, but of Ubuntu Studio set up.

Regards
Pino

Is this still an issue? Gtick works out of the box on my system with pulseaudio, so I guess this is not relevant for gtick at all anymore, no?
