Yes.

Either from the menu System > Preferences > Windows or running
gnome-window-properties from the command line. Both ways I always get a
popup window with the compiz message.

This seems to be 10.10 specific, perhaps the package is incomplete or
misconfigured.

Thanks in advance for sorting this out.

Best wishes,
Steven

It now transpires that there exists a separate package compizconfig-settings-manager. It was not installed automatically when I upgraded to Maverick alpha3. When I installed it manually, it received its own menu entry in System > Preferences > CompizConfig Settings Manager, and the System > Preferences > Windows entry remained void. So I think it is just a matter of tidying packages up for the new Ubuntu Maverick release and other releases that include Compiz.

Hope this helps,
Steven.

This is a packaging error in compiz (/usr/share/gnome/wm-properties/compiz.desktop/compiz-wm.desktop needs to be in /usr/share/gnome/wm-properties/compiz-wm.desktop instead)
