Bug Description

Binary package hint: evolution

Hi,

I just did a fresh install of Maverick 10.10 Alpha 3, reusing my home folder from 10.04.

I can not find the Evolution option "Leave Messages on Server".
The option used to be under "Receiving Options".

Is this a bug?

Description: Ubuntu maverick (development branch)
Release: 10.10

Package: Evolution 2.30.2-0ubuntu-11

Thanks,
Shaun

Thank you for your bug report, Didier could you check upstream and make sure it's not a side effect of the UNE changes?

Indeed, this comes from the evolution express changes.

However, the feature of autosetting that on the user behalf is also merged now in evolution 2.31. I'm checking with upstream if the option is still displayed and if they want so before trying to work on revert this or not.

ok, it's also the case in current evo 2.31 branch and upstream told me it's not done on purpose, filing an upstream bug.

This bug is a show stopper for me as I use the POP account to sync multiple machines.

Thank you for your effort,

Not really, from what I understand, "Leave message on server" is now the default for most of service provider with this version of evolution, can you confirm?

It is possible that it is defaulting to "Leave message on server", I will try to test this using a spare POP account as soon as I get a chance.

After a very painful period I have tested Evolution to check if it deletes email.
It does, all email is deleted from the server when you press "send/receive"

There is no "Leave message on server" option and it defaults to deleting email.

Has anyone confirmed my findings?

I really hope that this regression is fixed, Evolution is a great email client and I appreciate the work that goes into it. Unfortunately it is of no use to me in its current state.

It might have been fixed in 2.30
But the bug seems to be back in 3.6.2
There is no "Leave message on server" option.
Messages are left on the server by default --
no option to *not* leave on server,
or to leave for n days before deleting
Is this bug back, or am I missing something?
