Bug Description

Binary package hint: gwibber

Replying or retweeting messages is not possible. The windows where the message has to be typed is grey and not editable. The window is visible because of @dest is automatically added to it, but I cannot complete the message I want to send.

The send button works correctly, but the sent message contains only "@dest:"... Not very useful.

Dear rflores,

Thank you for reporting this bug. Can you please post some more specific steps to reproduce this? I have tested this using twitter and gwibber and am able to type in a message when replying/retweeting.

Hi Darran,

I would be glad to help you, but currently, I don't see what I can do for make this behaviour repoducible elsewhere than my computer.
Perhaps you could check yourself if I give you Gitso (VNC) account on my PC?

If you have any other idea, I listen. I'm going to reboot the PC to see if it is not related to first start of application, don't know... I'll let you know if there is any change.

Thanks.

Nothing changed after reboot.

For information, I have linked Gwibber to twitter, identica & facebook. The bug is not specific of any platform, I can't write message for no one of these 3 services.

What could I do for help you to identify the source of the problem?

I have an ethernet cable from my computer to the modem of my ISP.

I don't think the network connection is concerned by this bug because messages can be successfully sent, but I can't edit them. For exemple, when I want to retweet a message, I get "@dest:" automatically added, but I cannot write my own answer, that is the problem.

I'm going to take a screenshot for showing what it looks like...

can you please do a video cast of the screen to elaborate the problem more
clearly? you can use gtk-recordmydesktop for that ;)

Ok, I made a video showing the bug (in attachment).

I try to answer or retweet a message, but window where message might be written is not editable.

At the end, you can also see that deleting messages removes correctly them from website, but not from gwibber. They still are present. Is this normal ?

Here is a simple screenshot: http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/2645/microblogage005.png

Hope this help!

If you need any another thing, please let me know.

Using guest session, I can't log to twitter account because of a problem in gnome-keyring (see attached file named gwibber_guest_bug.log)

I have tried using a new account named "Dodo" with full privileges, and I get the same behaviour as on my session (can't write any message). Look at gwibber_bug_other_session.log for this test.
