is this bug always reproducible?

May you post the output of glxinfo -l and glewinfo? Moreover to avoid crashes enable OOPP for lightspark, follow instructions here: https://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/lightspark/wiki/Building

Joe, you seems to be missing some necessary video card feature. May you post your glewinfo? moreover it would be very useful if you could compile lightspark from sources to see what's the line it's actually faulting.

Building instructions are here http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/lightspark/wiki/Building, get the source release from launchpad.

Joe: taken a deeper look at the log i think your missing support for frame buffer objects, what video card/video driver are you using

My glewinfo is posted above. My video card is:
04:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation C79 [GeForce 9400M G] (rev b1)
I'm using binary nvidia driver (revision 173)

Switching to the nouveau driver, or the latest nvidia driver in the repositories, it doesn't crash. I use the 173 revision because the latest intermittently causes X to crash on startup.

joe: so you confirm it's a driver issue? I'll add a more verbose checks for video feature in next release
