That's exactly what I get when I try to watch a video on youtube. The browser closes abruptly and the only message on the terminal is "segmentation fault".

I am using Lucid 64bit. My card is a x1800xl using the "radeon" open source driver.

[user@laptop plugins]$ firefox

  what(): Lightspark error
/usr/lib64/firefox-3.5/run-mozilla.sh: line 131: 30529 Aborted (core dumped) "$prog" ${1+"$@"}
[user@laptop plugins]$

i will test building the plugin from source to see if that helps the crashing issues

How I can do a backtrace?

same way Harley did

gdb firefox

once inside of GDB type "run"

since you are on a binary distro you will have to install debug packages.

I'm trying to tackle the issues reported here. As these could be related to several different bugs It would be better to open different reports for each not working site (a bug for youtube, one for www.phoronix.com and so on). Moreover the crashes on the youtube homepage may be related to localized advertising. In such case please try to build a list of loaded SWFs.

Please do all testing using version 0.3.3 on the PPA, as I've enabled some debug output to gather information more easily.

There is a new release, please test again and open bugs for each crashing site.

I've been surfing www.phoronix.com for a while and I've hit no crashes, give it a try.

phoronix.com and yotube.com no longer crash firefox with lightspark (although flash objects are not played).

yandex.ru - still crashes from time to time, because it displays different flash banner each time the page is opened (some of these banners cause lightspark to crash, some don't).
