I got same problem, but not only that. I am using 2 layouts, and suddenly the indicator hanged at single layout (Russian), and did not want to switch back to USA.

With this I was getting the keyboard input mixed all the time, i.e. the characters were taken randomly from either of the layouts. Running 'xev' showed that there is a constant flow of keyboard-related events which have no visible impact.

Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be enough information in the stack traces to figure out what is going on here. Could someone who's having it please try to get a Valgrind log of their indicator-application-service: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Valgrind Thank you!
