Bug Description

Using zim for GTD I needed a way to check my inbox (mail, files and notes I have to process). So I create a page called inbox. Failed dragging mails from thunderbird ¿any suggestion? So I decided to save them in my inbox page archive folder (/home/foo/Notes/inbox) and create a 'custom tool' for checking new elements in that folder. Finally I made in available from any page so you can link any document (and mail) not linked in that page but present in the folder.

Attached the script an the icons I use. Just untar the scripts folder in the Notes directory and add a custom tool calling /home/foo/Notes/scripts/recoger.py %s

It could be a great idea a way for maintaining clean these folders, something for deleting old files and link useful ones.

Thanks

Sounds like a useful script. I though about such a way of autolinking attachments before, but difficult to get it right for all users.

An alternative may be the file browser plugin proposed for inclusion in next release. This will show all attachments in the folder in an embedded file browser pane.

See http://www.zim-wiki.org/wiki/doku.php?id=attachment_browser for the file browser script. Probably you should put your script in the wiki as well, so others can use it. This page is a good start: http://www.zim-wiki.org/wiki/doku.php?id=custom_tools

Btw. for drag & drop from email clients we have bug #381679

Is this way of working still useful if we have the "attachment browser" plugin showing all attachments in a seperate files-browser like pane ?
