Thank you for bringing this bug to our attention.
Assigning to French translations team to review the problem.

However, a paper cut should be a small usability issue, in the default Ubuntu install, that affects many people and is quick and easy to fix. So this bug can't be addressed as part of this project.

- Marking invalid as papercut , since this is a problem only in French language translations

For me, Numériser is a good translation of "to scan". I suggest to set this bug as invalid.

« Numériser » is a good translation of "to scan". « Scanner » is an anglicism.

Certes, dans l'absolu je vote pour numériser, le problème c'est que scanner et une action effectuée par un scanner, et que le mot est beaucoup plus connu que numériser....
