Thank you for the update, please remove the flashplugin-nonfree package
since it's version 9 and you have the adobe-flashplugin package
installed which is version 10.

Thank you for reporting this to Ubuntu. Sometimes Firefox profiles can become corrupt and/or extensions can conflict. Could you please try this with a new profile and see if the problem still exists? You do not need to delete your old profile to test. If this helps, you might want to try to disable all your extensions and re-enable them one by one until you find the problematic one.

You can start the profile manager with the following command:
firefox -ProfileManager

Thanks for your help. The problem is fixed. Here is what I did :

After I removed flashplugin-nonfree package as you suggested, I then also
remove adobe-flashplugin package. I then open firefox and enter
about:plugins to see what is there. What I saw was under Shockwave Flash
there was still version 9 somewhere in my system. I then cd to
.mozilla/plugins and remove libflashplayer.so. Next, I reinstall
adobe-flashplugin and everything is OK now. Again thanks for your help.
You gave me some hints to fix the problem.
