Bug Description

Binary package hint: filezilla

Added "deb http://apt.wxwidgets.org/ lucid-wx main" as a third-part source and updated the system to use codeblocks 10.05, filezilla encountered a bug:
when creating a new tab, it crashes.

Below is the terminal output:
filezilla: relocation error: filezilla: symbol _ZN13wxAuiNotebook15SetSelectedFontERK6wxFont, version WXU_2.8 not defined in file libwx_gtk2u_aui-2.8.so.0 with link time reference

with other wxwidgets programs working correctly, i think it a filezilla bug.

Which ABI version is your wxWidgets compiled with?

Sorry but how can I get the "ABI version"?

Unfortunately I do not know how to get the ABI version. I do however know that it must be at least 20805 or greater.

Latest FZ version is 3.3.3, but still unavaliable to download in Synaptic / apt-get.
It started after last packages update, with about 70 new packs.

The Latest 3.3.3 didn't fix it.

Did you recompile FileZilla after installing the third-party wx package? If not, it will still link against old wx library.

That fix doesn't work for me, using the versions below, still get the exact same crash as posted above in the description when opening a new tab in filezilla.

filezilla 3.3.1-1ubuntu1
libcairo2 1.8.10-2ubuntu1
libwxgtk2.8-0 2.8.10.1-0ubuntu1.1

Manually compiling the latest filezilla release (3.3.4) did fix this for me, so it's either a 3.3.3 or a packaging bug.

This is not a bug, it is the expected outcome of pulling in third-party repositories without recompiling all reverse dependencies.

I had the same issue with Filezilla 3.3.1 Ubuntu Package version as well.. When opening tabs, it throws the "_ZN13wxAuiNotebook15SetSelectedFontERK6wxFont," and quits..

Since I didn't wanted to manually compile the package and break the Synaptic Package Manager's beauty :) I used the Filezilla PPA..

I installed the following 2 usual packages via the Synaptic Package Manager..
libcairo2 1.8.10-2ubuntu1
libwxgtk2.8-0 2.8.10.1-0ubuntu1.1

And added the PPA for Filezilla (3.3.4) Lucid...
ppa:ferramroberto/linuxfreedomlucid

Do an Package manager Update and Upgrade your Filezilla..

Thats It..!!

the filezilla 3.3.4 from ppa:ferramroberto/linuxfreedomlucid fixed the problem here, with libcairo2=1.9.14-1ubuntu1 and libwxgtk2.8-0=2.8.11.0-0ubuntu3 installed.

Hi,

I have an other problem with wx applications: audacity, filezilla, truecrypt.

Menu "file" is not present since an upgrade on maverick ... I found menu reappear when i launch these apps by typing sudo before !

I'd look on alternatives, apparmor, and other path or security related part but no difference with a fresh maverick install on a virtualbox guest. Sorry just one: "file" menu is present and operational !!!

anybody help me ?! I have no time to reinstall my monstrous maverick setup.
