What browser was this using?

I have tried with Chrome and IE and they all destroy the calendar when the X is clicked...

Reported from Firefox 3.6, so maybe it's firefox related issue, or update to jQuery UI 1.8.2 fixed it...

I'm thinking the same. I've just tried it on Chrome with 1.2.0-rc1 and it does it there.

I've pulled your latest branch and it's fixed for me in Chrome and Firefox in there. I guess the jQuery update solved it.
