Bug Description

Binary package hint: linux-headers-2.6.32-22-generic

physical memory is 512MB, system states 344 under normal boot, when run from recovery mode -> terminal it stats it has 497MB.Then when i run startx it stays same 497MB.

Mainly i found that memory is dedicated to kdump and kexec.
 GRUB config file: etc/grub.d/10_linux:
#add crashkernel option if we have the required tools

Hi simoniemesko,

If you could also please test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results.
