Note that this is only a problem of the GUI frontends for Bluetooth management with GNOME. The Bluetooth stack itself works. My Bluetooth mouse and headset which I already have set up before updating to Maverick work. I only cannot set up new devices or do general Bluetooth configuration.

I can confirm that the same problem is occuring in my 10.10 install. The same exact debug message shows up in the terminal.

This bug was fixed in the package gnome-bluetooth - 2.30.0-1ubuntu2

---------------
gnome-bluetooth (2.30.0-1ubuntu2) maverick; urgency=low

  * debian/rules:
    - restore the workaround to build without symbolic-function since that
      creates runtime issues (lp: #594214)
