The alsa-firmware package comes from medibuntu. One goal for Maverick is to incorporate all the firmware from medibuntu's alsa-firmware package into Ubuntu's linux-firmware or linux-firmware- nonfree packages. As we do this, file collisions will result. Unfortunately, none of the Ubuntu maintainers of the Ubuntu firmware packages are maintainers of the alsa-firmware package, so there's nothing we can do to fix this issue. It is incumbent on the alsa-firmware package maintainer to fix this issue.
