All Icons should be accessible when task is opened

Bug Description

When I open a task in a separate window not all the icons are visible. This is possibly due to the German localization. This is very uncomfortable if I want to add tags with the DropDown-Icon (because it is not accessible at once; I have to make the window larger bevor the Drop-Down menu is available).
I made a Screenshot for better understanding.
I use version 0.2.4 (ubuntu 10.04)

This is indeed because of the German localisation which seems to have a very long translation for "mark as done".

I agree that this is frustrating but I've no idea on how it could be solved. What behaviour are you expecting ?

just make the standard-size of the window big enough.

Best regards and thx for the quick response.

I don't believe it's a solution because each translation has a different size and plugins can add buttons to the bar and some use really small screen (netbook).

So increasing the default size has to be carefully considered.

We can also impose that the TaskEditor toolbars don't have captions.

No captions in the toolbar could be the answer. Captions should be replaced by a sort of quickinfo (captions with mouseover-effect). That could solve the problem for every language.

Should we really enforce that ? What's the action to take for 0.3 ?

it is not the most important thing but would bring better usability in
the german version.

What about changing the problematic German translation to something shorter? For example to "Fertig" (i.e. "Done")?

What about storing the size of the windows für new tasks in future?
This way, the user has only once to make the window bigger and the settings will be stored for the next task.
But the problem will remain for new Users, which use it the first time.
I also encourage the option to shorten the Button "done" to "erledigt" or "als erledigt markieren". The description with within the mouse-over effect should stay the same, because it doesn't influence the problem we have (in the German localization).

I change translation so the problem is gone for German localization. There is translation file for 0.2.4. Run command

sudo msgfmt -o /usr/share/locale/de/LC_MESSAGES/gtg.mo de.po

Restart GTG and it should work :-)
