Bug Description
The usb keyboard and mouse may freeze at any time during the use of Ubuntu Lucid, Fedora, or Suse. The same problem exists on all. If I use an AC Powered External High Speed USB Hub and connect all my malfunctioning USB devices through the this Hub all problems disappear. Everything works perfectly. I can for instance remove and plug back in the Usb Reciever for the Wireless Keyboard/Mouse as many times as I want and everything keeps working as long as it is the External Hub. Doing the same routine on a Usb port directly from the computer the devices will freeze after the first cycle of un-pluging and re-pluging. If I have Open Office Writer in use at the same time doing this same procedure using the Hub and I am typing a word/s the process continues normally. However if I have the Usb receiver plugged directly into the computer and Open Office writer open and then unplug the Usb reciever and plug it back in, I can only type a few letters before a letter or a space will begin to repeat all on its own and never stop until I push the reset button on the computer.

I have an Epson 1640su scanner with usb1.1 and when plugged into high speed usb on computer it will stop functioning on resolution scans unless I plug it into the External Hub High Speed Hub and then it performs perfectly.
