Upgrade from Ubuntu 9.10 to 10.04 failed to complete, resulting in unusable X server.
Booted using failsafe and repaired broken packages.
Resumed normal boot.

Yes, Ubuntu has been installed on a 16Gb SDHC card, and is running on an Asus EeePC 901.
