Bug Description

Binary package hint: policykit-1

The upgrade crashes by installing policy kit.
After nesstart the X server don not start.
A 'recover' starts the system and wants to make a report.
The startup don't find the SC-Card with the Ubuntu installation.

This looks like bug 554718. Are you running the system from the SC-Card ?

yes, the system starts from an 8GB SC-Card.

What means 'nothing in /proc...'?

And - what policykit-1 ist doing?

Thanks for following up.

/proc is a pseudo filesystem giving access to kernel informations and policykit is a toolkit to manage administrative policies and privileges.
Without /proc your system won't work well at all.
