Branches with symlinks can't be checked out on Windows

This isn't really a question and I'm not sure it is really a bug but yeah: I feel that it is a "bug" in the sense that getting the source code should be easier.

After spending over 2 hours getting bazaar (never used it before, SVN, CVS, yes) up and running on my machine, making sure it was using my "launchpad" user, and that I had a public-key I still can't check out the code on my machine because apparently the Sikuli project has a symlink and those don't work with windows. Bazaar's "solution" is to install cygwin. Seriously? I dual-boot linux and have been using as my primary OS on my laptop for years so I'm not afraid of the penguin. But All I'm trying to do is just download the source code! I'm trying to get the code in an effort to try to help iron out bugs I've run into (memory leaks, random crashes etc) so that I can give back a little to the project and fix problems when I come across them and not wait for someone else to do it. If I'm working on sikuli visual Junit tests for an application I'm developing that is for windows it is a little hard to keep jumping back and forth between OSes. Granted I run an Ubuntu VM on my machine but even with it checked out I have to compile Sikuli in the VM, move the jar's over and then test. Not the optimal solution. I just want to work on the java and jython code and I can't do that right now. Maybe making a download of the sikuli IDE that has the source included in Jars or something I don't know. Just an FYI on the webpage would have saved me so much trouble trying to go the windows route in the first place.

Just a little frustrated that I've had to go through two download attempts, one via the Bazaar GUI, one via the command line only to have it fail after 100mb at less than 64kb/s (and it isn't my connection slowing it down, no idea why it is so slow) and I still have no source code to go through.

I have moved on from trying to work with sikuli. Noone ever responded to
this bug report and my boss decided I should stop wasting his $. Sorry. I
have looked into xpresser which is a pure python visual automation package
as an alternative.

@anatoly techtonik: you might try to use views feature in bzr, and disable symlinks creation. I did not try to do this myself though.

Use cygwin's bzr instead, which supports symlinks on Windows.
