Hi Jarlath,

Thank you for filing this bug after doing some troubleshooting on the forums (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1486490). I'm going to have a developer look into this. Can you do the following to provide us with more log files just in case it might give us some more information to help troubleshoot this issue?

1. Run this command from a terminal session: tar cjf ~/u1logs.tar.bz2 ~/.cache/ubuntuone/log
2. Attach ~/u1logs.tar.bz2 to the bug report

Thank you,

Joshua

Thank you Joshua,

I would have had this sooner, but I had to make a hardware repair to the laptop so it was out of action for a few days.

I have the same problem, may I can help out with additional information. This is the behaviour of ubuntuone-client right after reboot of my machine and login (copied from a terminal window):

1) after reboot and login, the client is not connected and some error seems to be occured as shown with -s.
2) invoking u1sdttool -c connects without problem
3) then also u1sttool -s shows a connected status.

If you want I can send you the logs as a private message/e-mail instead - just give me an address!

I am experiencing the same bug: u1 doesn't start automatically. It would be nice if anyone would give some workaround like a modified script to correctly start u1 on login. Any ideas?

I'm also experiencing this bug in Maverick Meerkat 10.10. I can start u1 manually through "ubuntu one preferences" but it's a bit of a faff and means I have to remember to sync everything.

Hello all!

This bug looks like a duplicate from bug #651237.

You can see that the master bug has a fix already proposed, and the fix is on maverick-proposed already. You could help a lot by testing the package. To do so, please follow: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed

Thanks a lot!

tks Naty for suggestion, as reported in bug #651237 the proposed package fixed the issue for me :)

But I have a different problem; nautilus extension for u1 is gone.
How I can restore the nautilus integration??

Tks in advance

Hi Giovanni!

I'm glad the fix worked for you. Could you please comment on the master bug saying that the fix is working for you? That way we can move it to the official maverick-updates repo.

To restore the nautilus integration (not sure why is gone), you should check that you have the ubuntuone-client-gnome package installed.

Cheers, Naty.

I already commented on the master bug reporting that ubuntuone-client-gnome was uninstalled too.

I tried to reinstall the package ubuntuone-client-gnome but there is a problem with dependencies.
In fact as you can see ubuntu-client-gnome depends from ubuntuone-client (= 1.4.4.1-0ubuntu1), and this is why was uninstalled.

Any suggestion??
tks, Giovanni

Adding this here, as well as in the master bug

Giovanni,

The problem you encountered with some packages being uninstalled because of dependency specifications is due to the fact that installing the maverick-proposed version of ubuntuone-client using aptitude will require that all of the client packages are specified on the install line, this will get them all at the same version. The alternative would be to do a full upgrade to the maverick-proposed repository, and I don't think that's what you want to do.

so:

sudo aptitude install ubuntuone-client/maverick-proposed ubuntuone-client-gnome/maverick-proposed ubuntuone-client-tools/maverick-proposed libsyncdaemon-1.0-1/maverick-proposed ubuntuone-client/maverick-proposed python-ubuntuone-client/maverick-proposed

should get you where you want to be. You'd also want to add 'ubuntuone-client-dbg' to that if you happen to have the debug extensions installed.
