Bug Description

Binary package hint: amsn

amsn now segfaults every time I try to start it. The amsn window will pop up briefly and then the program segfaults, it happens every time I try this, however it only started with todays updates to maverick.

david@sagan:~$ amsn
Segmentation fault

Any help as to extracting more information out of this one would be appriciated.

The only change recently that I personally suspect is that client side decorations was turned back on, when we tried that during Lucid it caused a lot of applications to display similar behavior.

I have a similar system now, I'll try to update to maverick this night and confirm this bug if I see the same behavior!

I did however it does not seem likely that Ubuntu will do the responsible thing and revert the rgba and csd features from the master repo and do testing in a ppa till a medium of usability is reached like during Lucid so it is sadly important to list every single application they utterly broke.

Hi David, could you try this workaround?

gedit ~/.profile

add these two lines :

export GTK_MODULES=rgba
export GTK_RGBA_APPS=allbut:amsn
