[GDebi Package Manager] Cannot update installed package from DEB package

Steps might be reason of this error:
1. Upgrade from Karmic To Lucid;
2. Updating VBox installed version for Karmic on Lucid ( with Karmic package );
3. Then - enabling disabled ( by Lucid's Upgrade ) Karmic VBox PPA and Upgrading from same versions targeted OSes ( 3.1.8_ubuntu_karmic -> 3.1.8_ubuntu_lucid );

Error message when executing downloaded deb from link above in GDebi Package installation dialog:
"Error: Conflicts with the installed package 'virtualbox-3.1'"

Any solutions?

Since you are using VirtualBox's repository, you should just be able to install virtualbox-3.2 from within Software Center or Synaptic Package Manager. Using repositories is generally better than trying to install deb packages directly.

No, from Ubuntu Software Center I could not Install it too after uninstalling manually virtualbox-3.1 :(

In Software Center, when I clicked "Insarll" button for virtualbox-3.2, I had an error message about unauthorized VirtualBox Repository ( in Launchpad and other webistes where error reports about this issue ) download, I clicked "OK" in that dialog, and thats it - Download and Isntalla was aborted. ( ?????????????? ).

Then, only way to Install it was form Sybaptics, but interesting, that even if I had just uninstalled virtualbox-3.1 from Ubuntu Software Center, virtualbox-3.2 in Synpatics was iconed as Upgrade ... wtf?

Then alll wen OK and now happily using W7 64bit on VBox :D

Still - this issue should be investigated!!!!!!!!

Not a GDebi issue, packaging has to be adjusted to be compatible with the one provided by Ubuntu repository,
