Bug Description

lsb_release -rd gives:
------------------------------------------------------
Description: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS
Release: 10.04
-----------------------------------------------------

the headphones does not mute the speaker. I have tried ALL combinations to put in the /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf for the line:
                 snd-hda-intel model=xxx

I have tried to update the alsa-driver to 1.0.23 by following this website:
                 http://monespaceperso.org/blog-en/2010/05/02/upgrade-alsa-1-0-23-on-ubuntu-lucid-lynx-10-04/
however, after a reboot, the alsa-driver seems to revert back to 1.0.22.1 (see below)

uname -a gives:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Linux lynxY430 2.6.32-22-generic #33-Ubuntu SMP Wed Apr 28 13:27:30 UTC 2010 i686 GNU/Linux
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

cat /proc/asound/version gives:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.22.1.
Compiled on Apr 29 2010 for kernel 2.6.32-22-generic (SMP).
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

aplay -l gives:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
card 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 0: CONEXANT Analog [CONEXANT Analog]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
card 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 1: Conexant Digital [Conexant Digital]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

head -n 1 /proc/asound/card0/codec* gives:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Quote:
==> /proc/asound/card0/codec#0 <==
Codec: Intel G45 DEVCTG

==> /proc/asound/card0/codec#2 <==
Codec: Conexant CX20561 (Hermosa)

It seems to be the Dolby Digital "subwoofer" that is not being mute...

The same problem: Lenovo G460, Kubuntu 10.04

BTW, here https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/219556 (at the bottom), Isaia says about "Headphone" Channel in the alsamixer.. hm, I have to such channel.

This is fixed in upstream ALSA. Should try out alsa-backports in proposed repository.

Are you referring to this package:
    linux-backports-modules-alsa-lucid-generic

My kernal is 2.6.32-23-generic and I am using Ubuntu 10.04, which is Lucid Lynx.

I have checked that I have installed this package and the other one, which is
    linux-backports-modules-alsa-2.6.32-23-generic.

But the problem is still there... Thanks for your input though =]
