Bug Description

I have several machines with Matrox G55+MDHA32DB video cards. Ubuntu has run without problems on these machines from Hardy through Jaunty, but Lucid does not work with the card. The panels render only on the left half of the display.

Chris,

What do you mean this is invalid? I've confirmed it on several
machines. Please explain, since I'd like to use these machines with
ubuntu 10.04.

Although the description is vague, it does describe bug #572550. The problem described is not invalid, it's very real. Ubuntu Lucid is not usable (as a desktop) when using a Matrox video card.
Jeffrey, can you attach the output of lspci -v as well as a screenshot just to be sure? (alt-F2 --> gnome-screenshot)

Marking this bug as a duplicate of #572550.

Hi Casper,

I've replaced the video card with a non-Matrox card, which fixed the
problem immediately. After reading further descriptions by others of
the bug, I can confirm that it is the same problem they are
describing.

Since I don't have the card in the machine any longer, and the machine
is in use, it is difficult for me to get the screen shot you
requested.

Thanks.
