I'll need some more information about this bug.
The split of the 10.9 GB file went fine using GNOME Split?
What is the file system which was used on the device on which you wanted to merge all the chunks?

Mark bug as incomplete until we get more details.
Splitting and merging a 12 GB file worked for me using an ext4 file system.

Well that could be the origin of the problem. But it is not due to the limit of the size of a file since NTFS should support > 11 GB files. Maybe the problem is is deeper (Java VM? NTFS driver?).

I try to reproduce the bug with a NTFS drive and the merge worked. So bug marked as invalid. Reopen it if you still have the problem.
