Bug Description

Using Mixxx 1.7.2 on Windows (Tested on 7 and XP). At the beginning of a VBR mp3 track the playback stutters. Only happens for approx one second (just the first few notes). The rest of the track plays fine.

Can we possibly get you to test with Mixxx 1.8.0~beta2 which should be out within the week and see if this is still a problem?

Can you try 1.8.0? Get it from http://mixxx.org

The problem still exists in 1.8.0. As I have said previously it only affects VBR playback. CBR is fine.

Hiya,
Sorry for the confusion, I was trying to report the bug as it still happens
with VBR MP3's in the latest version. It is very frustrating.

I have unsubscribed myself now from the Bug as you suggested.

Regards

Ray.

Using Mixxx 1.9, the stuttering starts after about 8 or 10 songs have been played, using auto dj or otherwise. After stuttering for about the length of one song, the stuttering stops, the starts again a little latter. I tried reloading the software with no remedy.
Thanks

Seems a file i have is VBR mp3, seeking within it, crashes mixxx's sound processing thread. UI still responds, but doesn't do anything. had to ctrl -c after exiting, to get the sound manager closed. mixxx 1.9 stable

I think I know what the fix for this would be, but I can't reproduce it anymore! Can someone please verify it is still a bug?

This should be fixes in Master.
A possible reason is that the bit reservoir is empty.
Solution: We have started the decoder some frames earlier to fill the reservoir.

not worth fixing in 2.0 (the fix in 2.1 is not backportable, since the fix is an entire rewrite of the decoder)
