Bug Description

Used with or without dmraid, the installer does not detect the (fakeraid/hostraid) array on the SATA embedded controller.

The device is listed in the BIOS as

HP Embedded SATA RAID Adapter
Adaptec

HP Proliant ML150 G3 is listed on the HCL.

Strangely, in the part Detecting Disks it says:
One or more drives containing Serial ATA RAID configurations have been found.

Choosing to use or not to use these devices does not make any difference; in the next step, the drive(s) is/are not found.

Thank you for checking. Do you mean 10.10 or 10.04 with the latest kernel?
Sadly, last week this server broke down, I cannot check it now. If it works
again, I will come back.

Hello Fabio, The H/W raid controller was not detected. So I created software raid using installer. Interestingly that worked.

Confirmed on Ubuntu Server 10.10 32 bit. Created Raid 1 using Adaptec SATA SmartHOST controller on two 1 TB drives, then attempted install.
-Installer detected RAID device and asked if I wanted to Activate. I said yes.
-Partioner found no disks, only presented options for iSCSI
-Reproduced error each time on 3 attempts

Installers asks "Activate Serial ATA Raid Devices?"
I indicate yes
No Devices are found.

I'll be working around this with software RAID, but would be willing to perform additional tests.
