gdebi CLI: can't confirm installation in non-english environment

Binary package hint: gdebi

I want to install package with CLI version of gdebi (for example, skype). In Russian translation i have this:

sudo gdebi skype-ubuntu-intrepid_2.1.0.81-1_amd64.deb
....
Вы хотите установить этот пакет? [д/Н]д

I type "д" (Да - yes in Russian), but installation was aborted. Any symbol (not matter, in Russian or in English) abort the installation.
But when i do

LANG=C sudo gdebi skype-ubuntu-intrepid_2.1.0.81-1_amd64.deb
and then type "y" - installation was fine

On Karmic gdebi cli works like a charm.

I can confirm the same behavior in french.

--> won't work (with any character)
