Can not mark 'ubuntu-desktop' for upgrade

I was trying to update to Lucid, when I got an error saying: "Could not calculate the upgrade"
How do I fix it, please?

Well, I am just a bug triager with almost zero experience with these messages.
That looks strange to me that such dependancies happens on released version.

Do you have xubuntu-desktop installed on this machine?
There is a known bug, bug #57143 that make it problematic to update ubuntu-desktop if xubuntu-desktop is there.

I doubt this is your problem... but it seems worth to ask.

How are you trying to upgrade ?
The update-manager version (Candidate: 1:0.130) is strange it should be something like 0.134. Is your system up-to-date before starting the upgrade ?

they seem to fixed this.. because today i ran the update again.. and everything went fine.. i guess
running lucid now
