Bug Description

When I'm on the train there is a bad area on the way, Normally I just reconnect. Since upgrading to Lucid, it won't reconnect, doesn't even look like it tries. If i right click on the nm-applet and uncheck mobile broadband and then recheck it i can now reconnect.

Hi Robert,

Please be sure to confirm this issue exists with the latest development release of Ubuntu. ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ . If the issue remains, please run the following command from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report.

apport-collect -p linux 576938

Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results.

Thanks in advance.

Can we please reopen this bug. This still exists. I sent the appport information. This happens at least once a day now. Its all related to my service strength. The big problem is that once i get disconnected, I cannot reconnect. I have to disable the device then re-enable it.

Robert Hau, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. If it remains an issue, could you run the following command from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report.

Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue.
