Binary package hint: firefox

Just updating to Lucid with firefox 3.6.3
Then the firefox crashed with particular pages such as CNN and etc.
It even crashed while trying to report the bug (when I'm clicking the "No, I need to report a new bug" button.

Thank you for reporting this to Ubuntu. Sometimes Firefox profiles can become corrupt. Could you please try this with a new profile and see if the problem still exists? You do not need to delete your old profile to test.

You can start the profile manager with the following command:
firefox -ProfileManager

Changed in firefox (Ubuntu):
status: New → Incomplete

I have same problem for Firefox 3.6 on Lucid, Fire fox be come unstable and crash after install Thai language pack and using it under Thai menu (in English menu every thing is OK).
So I think the language pack is cause of it.

I've always using firefox for several years. My problem just occurred with Lucid update that contained firefox 3.6.3.

Think it's because of some new bugs in the fox itself

Regard,

"Regular users" can also access the profile manager as it's a per user function.
Could you please try this with a new profile and see if the problem still exists? You do not need to delete your old profile to test. If this helps, you might want to try to disable all your extensions and re-enable them one by one until you find the problematic one.

You can start the profile manager with the following command on a terminal with Firefox closed:
firefox -ProfileManager

Many thanks, I've tried switching the profile to another new one, even change to the new directory with that profile: nothing help.

Got to use seamonkey forever. My laptop is fine with the update but not the desktop.

Thank you for the update. Could you please try to produce a gdb backtrace using the instructions here:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Backtrace

Please substitute 'firefox -g' for 'gdb <program>'
