Bug Description

Fails to resume from suspend. Resume from hibernate is OK.
On resume, I am faced with a black screen, but can get a console with CTRL-ALT-F1. I can usually log in from the console, but it sometimes hangs during or shortly after logging in. dmesg shows the following:

[ 970.959096] BUG: unable to handle kernel paging request at ffff880121681004

[ 970.959199] Oops: 0009 [#1] SMP

(Address in first and second lines is different each time.)

This is a fresh re-install of Ubuntu 10.04.
Apologies if this report appears twice -- launchpad timed out on me the first time I tried to report it.

Hi Mike,

If you could also please test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results.

Thanks in advance.

With the upstream kernel resume from suspend works, although dmesg shows some some error messages:

[ 61.040054] Memory corruption detected in low memory

[drm:drm_mode_getfb] *ERROR* invalid framebuffer id

(full dmesg log attached)

Update manager just installed several updates, including kernel 2.6.32-22-generic.
Resume from suspend now works OK. dmesg log attached.
