Bug Description

Binary package hint: update-manager

The upgrade to the new KDE LTS could not install Python.

subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 4

I will boot this T61p with Knoppix, and retrieve the files for you. It will take a few days, but I'll post the rest of the files. The system just won't boot. If it is possible to recover this and you have suggestions on how to recover what I had I'll try that too.

You can also boot from a livecd and access your hard drive from there to retrieve the log files.

The previous log files are from a directory marked with a time, 20100430-1447. I've got another set in the higher level /var/log/dist-upgrade directory, if those are needed.
