Bug Description
Hibernation failed: the system can not hibernate. This was upgraded from 9.10 to 10.04 RC, after testing beta2 with ill results. 9.10 was installed clean. Swap was 690Mib and worked fine, untill 10.04 RC. I am aware that there is an issue with the swap being to small. The machine was booted from USB (10.04 NBR thumb drive) and used Gparted to adjust the primary to allow for a 1Gib swap, created an extended partition and logial swap. rebooted and turned swapon. reboot, still not working. The boot screen show that one drive "uuid xxx-xxx-xxx not ready or present yet" gives option to wait, M to manually mount, or S to skip. pressing M does nothing. Can not find info to bind the new uuid to swap...I think this is the issue. Searched for other bugs but none are similar.
I havent included some info as this is the nature of the problem, it is NOT DOING something it should.
IT CAN BE FIXED, how ever due to the new uuid system of doing things...the old instructions to fix are failing me.
If my touch pad buttons worked I'd post more. But thats another bug for another day.
machine is a ASUS eeePC 900 A

Hi rjdaggett,
Please be sure to confirm this issue exists with the latest development release of Ubuntu. ISO CD images are available from http:// cdimage. ubuntu. com/releases/ . However, note you can only test Suspend, not Hibernate, when using a LiveCD. If the issue remains, run the following command from a Terminal (Applications- >Accessories- >Terminal) it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report.
apport-collect -p linux 571036
Also, please be sure to take a look at https:/ /wiki.ubuntu. com/DebuggingKe rnelSuspendHibe rnateResume . If you can provide any additional information outlined there it would be much appreciated.
Additionally, if you could try to reproduce this with the upstream mainline kernel that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https:/ /wiki.ubuntu. com/KernelMainl ineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs- upstream- testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs- upstream- testing' text. Thanks in advance.
