I have tried to apply your patch to the current version of Muine in Ubuntu (0.8.11-4) but it failed to apply.

If possible, could you have a look at this and resubmit a patch that applies fully? Once we get a fully working patch, we can send this up to Debian.

My patch was against upstream git HEAD. Adapting it for Ubuntu is trivial; to be honest, running

    find . -type f | perl -p -i -e 's,muine-player.org,muine.gooeylinux.org,g'

(or similar) would be quicker than adjusting and applying a patch. But, since you insist, find an adjusted one for Ubuntu -4 attached.

I've tried to talk to upstream but had no response (on two occasions). After
the first one, I uploaded and then tried to forward again. I'll send it up
to Debian when I next get the chance (or if anyone else wants to they could
do it and link the report to here).
