Same result with final release!

If you mean the ones in /var/lib/dkms/, do not exist...
The only file in /var/lib/dkms/ is dkms_dbversion containing.......2.0.0

If is something else you need, please be specific.

This problem https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/initramfs-tools/+bug/565715
that occurs together with the one reported here, is somehow relevant?

Affecting me in final as well. Synaptic shows driver installed, but "restricted drivers" shows it not activated.

Installing the nvidia driver to my pen drive, because the default driver does not activate the TV out on my graphics card, and doesn't show it as an option.

same here, with final release, Ubuntu 10.04 LTS

I think it is not a problem caused by dkms, as no dkms directory has been created in /var/lib/dkms

It is probably something else. Maybe related to apt, as I tried to install flash player with firefox plugin detection and it did failed to activate the universe/multiverse repositories.

Check bug 557023. The cause of this may be a broken link to vmlinuz on persistent USB installs.
