Bug Description

I'm sorry I haven't the foggiest how this happened. I just arrived this morning, unlocked gnome-screensaver, and started typing in Eclipse SDK with Pydev. While typing, the machine restarted without any warning or glitch beforehand. After logging in again, I got no message about a crash. The machine was not running anything CPU or GPU heavy. It had been running for a few days without problems. I've had some graphics problems before - bug #557128 - but it didn't seem like the same problem.

Hi l0b0,

If you could also please test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results.

Thanks in advance.

I'll be moving to 10.04 as soon as that is released, and this crash was a one-time occurrence, so it's unlikely that I'll have more info on it.
