empathy does not notify that text wont be sent due to long length

Some of the messages sent to my MSN contacts do not appear on their half.
There is no sign that they are not sent.

It can be annoying when they don't answer one of your questions that they don't even receive :D

Thanks for taking time to report this bug and helping to make ubuntu better. If you face this problem next time can you please open Help>Debug> there select butterfly and click on the save button to save the telepathy butterfly logs to this bug report.

The file contains the error, which occurred when my message was not sent.

In the debug log there was no sign of any message written in that time interval, thus it was about 10 lines.

My friend uses pidgin 2.6.6.

I was able to reproduce this bug. Its not a protocol bug rather empathy bug i.e it should Just tell the user that the text is too long. Pidgin does that.

In my case it happens with messages composed of just 6 characters. I see no correlation between the length of my message and this bug.
The other aspect of this is, that after the bug occurs I can't send any messages to that contact, until I log out and in again.

This is really annoying. I've just installed aMSN because of this, but I don't like it. So it would be nice if this one could be resolved.

I've added https://launchpad.net/~telepathy/+archive/ppa to mi source list.
I'll test this bug with the new releases, and will keep you up to date with the results.

Still hapens here. Indeed no correlation with message length.
