cant use wireless card

Bug Description

i can connect to a wired connection but not a wireless one that i can can be detected but the network icon/tool seems confused and wont let me choose enable wireless tab. Also i enabled disabled wireless via BIOS and reloaded ubuntu and it worked and i was setting up wireless and it went offline and enable wireless was greyed out again.

Please do not change info on the bug without commenting on what and why. can you please disable the wireless setting in your BIOS and it should work than.

Once you disable it in BIOs you should beable to enable/disable from network-manager icon

it didnt work i disabled it and loaded ubuntu and enable wireless was still not available and than enabled it again and it still wasn't available

Please, verify that wlan is enabled in the bios. Ubuntu Lucid Lynx does not start wlan if it is not set in the bios (while other distros do start wlan regardless of bios setting, and may actually disable wlan in bios when they shut down - see bug 544991).
