Bug Description
There is NO OTHER way to report this bug in Lucid Lynx.
Using the Live image (2010, April 5th).
I was lucky enough to see Lucid Lynx desktop AND move/click my mouse. When I clicked "Try ubuntu" the system froze and after a couple of minutes I saw the console with massive errors being reported:
[327.9XXXXX] [drm] nouveau 0000:01:00.0: AIII, invalid/inactive channel nouveau id 32.
This is the first Ubuntu system that I am completely unable to launch and therefore it's almost impossible to report bugs...
There should be an option to select which driver to run (VESA, NV and maybe at the end of the list Nouveau)

BadBoy, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http:// cdimage. ubuntu. com/daily- live/current/ .
If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications- >Accessories- >Terminal) , as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report:
apport-collect -p xserver- xorg-video- nouveau REPLACE- WITH-BUG- NUMBER
Please note, given that the information from the prior release is already available, doing this on a release prior to the development one would not be helpful.
Thank you for your understanding.
