HDA freezes (but recovers) under lucid beta on HP netbook

Bug Description

This does not happen with Jaunty, but does with Lucid beta.

The symptom is it appears to freeze with the system monitor going completely yellow for about 10-15 seconds, then it starts working again. There are two sections from kernel logs, the latter is what I see from "dmesg" just after it happens.

I cannot cause it to happen and have disabled any power management that should try to suspend or spin down the hard drives, but it still happens. It does generally happen after it has been idle, but even that isn't consistent - I'm browsing or doing something else and it freezes.

I have this problem as well. It looks the same as these two:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/464350
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libatasmart/+bug/445852

It seems to be a problem related to SSD's? It is a particular problem for the Mini9 (what I have) and the HP netbooks.

Is this problem present with the latest updated Lucid's or Maverick's packages?

Hey there,
Haven't noticed it on latest maverick after a clean re-install.
Cheers,

Roman
