10de:0647 [MacBookPro5,3] Hang during boot with nouveau unless xforcevesa specified

Lucid fails to boot with nouveau on "nvidia 9600M GT" on MacBookPro5,3. I am using yesterday's daily livecd.

- Removed "quiet splash" and process hangs with a message about "PRAMIN flush timeout." CTRL+ALT+DEL does not reboot.

- Added nomodeset, system seems to finish upstart's tasks, ureadahead outputs a message about exiting with status 4, but no VTY or X. CTRL+ALT+DEL does not reboot.

WORKAROUND: Added xforcevesa (and nomodeset). I now get both X and VTYs. Everything works as expected. It would be nice if nouveau could not support this card that it be blacklisted and fall back to vesa.

You can add your "xforcevesa" info over there as well.

As a followup, I am indeed required to specify both nomodeset and xforcevesa
