Bug Description

I cannot install linux-backports-modules-alsa-lucid-generic 2.6.32.17.18, which I require to get audio out.

Output from synpatic when attempting an install:

linux-backports-modules-alsa-lucid-generic:
Depends: linux-backports-modules-alsa-2.6.32-17-generic but it is not installable

This was installable until the last change to this package, last Tuesday.

[This is an automated message. Apologies if it has reached you inappropriately.]

This bug was reported against the linux-meta package when it likely should have been reported against the linux package instead. We are automatically transitioning this to the linux kernel package so that the appropriate teams are notified and made aware of this issue.

If this bug really is a bug in the linux-meta package you can move it back to linux-meta and tag it kj-linux-meta, or contact us on the #ubuntu-kernel channel on the FreeNode IRC server. Thanks.

Updates today fixed this issue.

Feel free to close if anything else in the background that needed to be addressed is fixed.

... and btw, thanks! It's nice to have sound again. :-D

This bug is striking again in the last update:

linux-backports-modules-alsa-lucid-generic:
Depends: linux-backports-modules-alsa-2.6.32-19-generic but it is not installable

Is this anyway to automate the building of alsa backports?
