Bug Description

Binary package hint: nautilus

Maybe it's GTK's policy, anyway. After moving from Windows, this makes feel uncomfortable.

Thanks for your bug. GNOME applications uses Ctrl-W usually to close I window, I'm not convinced that esc should close them too, it's only one key and could be pressed by mistake by example

I have the same opinion as Séb. I'd suggest to talk with the upstream authors, if you have really strong feelings about this.

I noticed this too, in the properties window for files and disks.

Esc is easier to press and to remember than ctrl+w.

If GNOME and Windows have all things different, it makes it difficult to migrate from Windows to Linux. It should be as easy as possible.

Agreed.
And many dialogs in GNOME close on ESC though (e.g. nearly all preferences windows, even that of nautilus ;-) )
