Bug Description

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel

Initially I was able to startup gnome-screensaver-preferences without issue but when I selected the Ant Spotlight for a screensaver and the ant in the preview almost made a full turn with its light facing you, the screen would go completely black and can't do anything but hardboot...well almost, after a crash I set the power button to switch off the system and sense then if I hit the power button just after it black screens the system shuts down as it is supposed to. But now if I load up the screen saver preferences the ant spotlight is select by default and as a result video crashes again a few seconds after screensaver preferences is loaded.

Hi MasterNetra,

Please attach the output of `lspci -vvnn` and `dmesg`, and attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log (and maybe Xorg.0.log.old) file from after reproducing this issue. If you're using a custom /etc/X11/xorg.conf please attach that as well.

[This is an automated message. Apologies if it has reached you inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]

Here is the info, but as I mention in the dmesg text file terminal cut off a top portion, how much idk.
Also my first attempt posting this resulted in a black screen system freeze where the shutdown button didn't even work.

The Black screen system freeze happened randomly with all other distros thought it has only just happen after a restart from this inciddent so it maybe a one time faulty restart as it was indeed a bit buggy (with a empty cd being mounted where there was none, but after I was forced to do a hard reset the false mount disappeared so the Black screen freeze maybe just a one time show.

Again dmesg had gotten cut off by terminal so a portion of the top maybe missing.
