Bug Description
When I boot up Lucid Lynx Beta 1, I get a brief FSCK notice (a couple of seconds) then the them music plays within 15 seconds with just the purple themed background. Suddenly after 25 seconds all of the menus appear and all seems well. My motherboard is a Gigabyte 945GZM-S2 (rev 3.9) with onboard graphics that works perfectly with Karmic.

I see no evidence in the logs that something is wrong with X here. You'll need to do a bit more analysis (try bootchart) to see what is causing the pause. For instance, try disabling compiz.
